Review about dengue prevention initiatives
In Rawalpindi, the province. Health Minister Dr. Jamal Nasir and As the Commissioner (Rawalpindi Division) Laiqat Muhammad Ali Chatha presided over a meeting on dengue prevention. According to a press release, the goal of year-round anti-dengue efforts is to protect people by taking preventative measures during this time.
The Provincial Minister of Health stated that there is no place for disregard in anti-dengue actions while paying close attention to the absence of the chiefs of several departments from the meeting. Dr. Jamal Nasir remarked that the department heads themselves should attend the meeting and gave instructions to the heads of the missed departments, including PHA, WASA, RDA, and School Education, to issue notifications. In light of the recent rains, he commanded that prompt preparations be made for the disposal of standing the rainwater in the city so that it does not cause floods, as well as for the destruction of the wild shrubs so that water does not accumulate there.
According to Liaqat Ali Chatha, the teams from all the relevant departments and the health department's monitoring teams have taken efficient steps to avoid dengue. The assigned crews on occasion upload the data to the dashboard for ongoing surveillance and visit cemeteries, open water tanks, warehouses, under-construction structures and other locations to try to stop dengue larva hatching. Similarly, 160,919 sites were checked for outdoor vector activity during April 1 and April 30, 2023, of which 134 were positive and demanded action.
